Breast Cancer Quilt designed and made by me, donated to raise money for Susan G G. Komen South Florida to continue their mission to aid uninsured/underinsured women (and men) to receive lifesaving treatment for breast cancer.
In 2016, Martin Health System in Stuart, Florida (now Cleveland Clinic Martin Health) was proud to be the host hospital for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, South Florida.
I designed and made this quilt to be raffled to raise money which was donated to Susan G. Komen to continue their mission to help uninsured/underinsured women (and men) to obtain life-saving treatment for their breast cancer. Through the generous donation of their funds, we were able to assist many patients obtain treatment for breast cancer.
Dr. James Vopal, one of our esteemed Breast Surgeons, generously donated funds for this quilt, and this quilt is hanging on the wall of the examination room in his office that he uses when he tells a patient they have breast cancer.
I am a retired Oncology Nurse from MMHS (Cleveland Clinic) where I worked for more than 16 years,, and the last10 years had the privilege of assisting patients as a consistent care coordinating care, providing support access to services, and advocating for patients as a Breast Health Navigator.
